Frequently Asked Questions
Truly, in end-of-life planning, there are no silly questions.
Are you a hospice?
No. We work alongside hospice. Hospice provides the medical team; we provide the unhurried human companionship, planning, and advocacy that round out the picture.
Where do you operate?
Nationwide, through a vetted collective of doulas and clinicians. Some services (MAiD, psilocybin) are state-specific; we'll tell you plainly what is and isn't available where you live.
Do you take insurance?
We are 100% private-pay. Sliding-scale rates and payment plans are available. Some services may be reimbursable through HSAs/FSAs.
What does a death doula do?
A death doula can do lots of things. They will be a rational companion to you at clinical visits, they can help you get your advance directives in order, they can help you design the memorial you want (even officiate!). Planning a Death With Dignity/Medical Aid in Dying (MAiD) exit, even after-death care and support for your care team, whoever that means. We support you, advocate for your wishes, educate and empower you to live out the life and death of your dreams. Sound wacky? Let's talk.
How do I get started?
Schedule a complimentary Discovery Conversation. It's a 45-minute call where we listen, answer your questions, and write up a recommended path — even if you ultimately work with someone else.
